Athletics
Athletics are an important part of the FBUSD experience. Whether competing on the field, the court, or the track, student-athletes learn teamwork, discipline, and what it means to represent their school and community with pride. FBUSD offers athletic programs at both the middle school and high school level, giving students the opportunity to get involved in sports beginning in 6th grade.
Fort Bragg Middle School Athletics
Fort Bragg Middle School offers competitive sports across three seasons for students in grades 6–8. Athletics at the middle school level focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and building connections with coaches and teammates. Students have the opportunity to travel to other schools in Mendocino and Lake Counties for games and tournaments.

- Fall — Volleyball
- Winter — Basketball, Wrestling
- Spring — Soccer, Softball

Fort Bragg High School Athletics
Fort Bragg High School competes in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and offers a wide range of varsity and junior varsity sports throughout the year. FBHS student-athletes compete against schools across the region and have the opportunity to pursue athletics at a high level.
Sports offered by season:
- Fall — Cross Country, Football, Girls Soccer, Boys Soccer, Volleyball, Cheer
- Winter — Girls Basketball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, Cheer
- Spring — Baseball, Softball, Tennis, Track & Field, Swimming, Golf

Athletic Clearance
All student-athletes at both the middle school and high school must complete the athletic clearance process before participating on any team. Clearance is completed online and must be finished prior to the start of each sport season.
Contact your school's athletic director or front office if you have questions about the clearance process.
