After School Program (Kudos 4 Kids)

Kudos 4 Kids provides academic support and engaging after school enrichment in a safe, welcoming environment for FBUSD students in grades TK–8. Every afternoon, Kudos gives kids a place to learn, explore, make friends, and have fun — with caring, dedicated staff by their side.

Kudos is available at three campuses: Redwood Elementary, Dana Gray Elementary, and Fort Bragg Middle School.

Hours & Program Days

Kudos runs every regular school day during the school year, plus 30 additional non-school days. The program begins at the end of the school day and wraps up at 6:00 PM.

Who Can Enroll

All FBUSD students in grades TK–8 are welcome in the Kudos program. Enrollment is open to everyone, with priority given to:

  • Students experiencing homelessness or in foster care
  • English Language Learners
  • Students with financial need
  • Students with academic need

The program is free of charge, made possible through California state funding.

What Students Do at Kudos

Kudos is designed to complement the school day, not just extend it. Students enjoy a mix of academic support and enriching activities, including:

  • Homework help and tutoring — dedicated time for students to complete assignments with staff support
  • Enrichment clubs and activities — creative, hands-on programming that changes throughout the year
  • Field trips and community partnerships — weekly excursions and special programs with local organizations such as the Mendocino Art Center, Noyo Marine Science Center, Noyo Food Forest, and CV Starr Aquatic Center
  • A nutritious snack — provided daily in accordance with California state requirements

Each campus has its own schedule, clubs, calendar, and activities tailored to the age group it serves.

Redwood Elementary (TK–2nd Grade)
Clubs, field trips, and enrichment activities designed for our youngest learners.

Dana Gray Elementary (3rd–5th Grade)
Hands-on activities, community field trips, and academic support.

Fort Bragg Middle School (6th–8th Grade)
Enrichment programming, attendance recovery support, and community connections.

Camp KUDOS — Summer Program

Kudos doesn't stop when school lets out! Camp KUDOS offers enrichment programming during the summer months, giving students a fun, structured place to spend their days over the break.

Summer camp registration opens May 1 – May 31. Keep an eye on ParentSquare for updates and details.
