GENERAL INFORMATION

The Fort Bragg Unified School District (FBUSD) is committed to hiring qualified employees and maintaining a workforce that reflects the rich culture of our community. APPLICATION PROCEDURES

All external job openings are posted at EdJoin.org. To apply for a position in FBUSD, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit http://www.EdJoin.org
  2. Create an account
  3. Complete the online application form. Remember to attach all required documents as outlined in the vacancy announcement. Applications received without the required documents will not be considered for employment.

Typically, the following documents are requested and should be attached to employment applications: 

  • Letter of Introduction

  • Cover Letter 

  • Resume

  • Up to 3 current letters of reference attesting to experience/ability

  • A copy of college transcripts or certificates verifying degrees or training

Applicants for administrative, teaching, and pupil services vacancies must also include:

  • Documentation of the credential(s) currently held

  • CBEST, CSET, or other Basic Skill Requirements

  • Copy of NCLB Compliance Certificate (if applicable)

  • English Learners Authorization or equivalent.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Electronic applications are screened for minimum qualifications after the vacancy closing date. Once eligibility status is determined, all applicants are notified of the outcome.  Qualifying candidates will receive information regarding the next step in the assessment process, either by telephone, email, or both.  

If offered employment, the successful candidate must provide the following:

  • Credentials or Permits

  • Official transcripts in unopened envelopes verifying degrees and post-degree coursework, mailed from the college or university to the personnel office

  • A copy of results for a negative TB Test (less than 4 years old) or Assessment*

  • Documents verifying the candidate's right to work in the United States

Candidates must also complete the following to begin employment in the district:

  • Mandatory Keenan online courses specific to positions (required annually following start date)

  • Fingerprints for the DOJ and FBI criminal background check, specific to the Fort Bragg Unified School District

  • All new employee documents required by the District

  • CPR/1st Aide certificate if applicable

  • Vaccinations if applicable

* Candidates without a current TB test and fingerprint clearance check completed for FBUSD will not begin working until after clearance is obtained.

SUBSTITUTE EMPLOYMENT

Fort Bragg Unified School District employs the following types of contingent workers who are on-call, without guaranteed hours of employment, but who are hired to fill vacancies of absent employees as needed:

  • Certificated substitutes 
  • Classified substitutes
  • Seasonal, walk-on athletic coaches
