Teacher, Lighthouse and Shelter Cove Community Day Schools
Emily was born in Seattle, but having a dad in the Navy meant she didn't stay in one place for very long. As a kid, she lived in Florida, Maryland, and Louisiana. She had the incredible experience of living in Italy for three years of middle school. Then off to Washington state where she attended high school and earned her BA from Western Washington University. As an adult, Emily's love of international travel found her spending seven years living and traveling in many countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Some of her favorite places in the world are Kathmandu, Venice, Jerusalem, and (being a huge Beatles fan) Liverpool.
She received her secondary education teaching credential in History/Social Science at Humboldt State University. Prior to that, Emily spent five years as an instructional aide for Humboldt County's Court and Community School system, doing what she could to help "at-risk" students earn their high school diplomas.
Emily enjoys listening to all kinds of music, playing bass guitar, meditation, bicycle rides, yoga, and spending time with good people. She's a recent arrival to Fort Bragg, and absolutely loves her new hometown and the incredible Mendocino coast.
