Macaella Dell Stuckey
Administrative Assistant, Alternative Schools
I was born in Berkeley, CA and moved to Fort Bragg when I was 3, where I attended school and graduated from FBHS in 1998. I participated in softball and dance classes as a kid, and participated in basketball and cheerleading in high school. I later coached basketball at FBMS, FBHS, and Mendocino Middle School. I attended College of the Redwoods and got my AA degree in 2001. I am close to finishing my BA degree in Sociology but have had to take a break for a bit and will hopefully be getting back to it in the next couple of years :)
I have worked at a few different non-profit social service agencies with various populations of at-risk youth. Including: The Independent Living Program through San Luis Obispo Department of Social Services working with current and former foster youth ages 16-21; Mendocino County Youth Project working with students who qualified under the federal McKinney Vento Homeless Education Act; And R House Inc in Santa Rosa - a group home for teen age girls with dual diagnosis of both substance abuse and mental health issues. I have also worked as an administrative assistant at a property management company for the 6 years prior to moving back to Fort Bragg. I started working at Noyo/Lighthouse/Shelter Cove/Coastal Adult School at the beginning of the 2011-12 school year.
I met my husband, Mike, and his daughter, Kathryn, in Fort Bragg in 2002 and we got married in 2008. We had a baby girl, Alexia, in 2011 and decided, after living in Rohnert Park for 8 years, to move back to Fort Bragg to be closer to family. In 2014 we had another baby girl, Piper!
I am happy to be back in Fort Bragg and to be working at the alternative education programs site. I substituted for this position back in the late 90's/early 2000's and always thought it would be a great job to have. I was so excited when the position became available for the first time since then and when I got the job.
I continue to enjoy serving the alternative education students and their families and look forward to talking to you :)
