The mission of Fort Bragg Middle School is to encourage and support student achievement as we strive for excellence. We seek to do this in a safe environment by developing positive relationships within the school, family, and community. Fort Bragg Middle School has a shared vision where we give our best effort every day and strive to do better. Our standards are set high for learning. We provide students with a viable, rigorous curriculum that is supported by researched-based, effective teaching practices proven to raise student achievement. Our Professional Learning Community promotes excellence and believes that respect and positive intention are the basis for a collaborative culture and a successful learning environment. Our core values of being safe, respectful and responsible are the foundation for our positive school climate and are reflected in our daily relationships at FBMS and throughout the community. Fort Bragg Middle School is proud to provide our 6th, 7th and 8th graders a safe and caring environment, a rigorous and meaningful curriculum that addresses individual differences and high moral and ethical standards. Serving Fort Bragg and surrounding communities, our school is constantly seeking to incorporate programs and practices that increase the success of our 441 multi-ethnic students. Our dedicated staff welcomes parent input and communicates with parents regularly via the phone, student assignment journals, and school webpage. While our teachers are enthusiastic and actively involved in the planning and implementation of the most successful educational methods, activities and strategies to benefit our students, our staff as a whole is dedicated to making each day a pleasant and successful one for every one of our students. The integration of our curriculum continues to be our focus. Our networked computer lab is connected to the Internet, and we have Internet access in most classrooms. In additional to our strong academic program we offer elective classes in music, sports and art. We strive to offer student-centered and developmentally appropriate activities for all of our students. Our Language Arts program emphasizes the inclusion into our regular program of limited English speakers and special education programs. |
